WHAT "BURNT" ACTUALLY MEANS
AND WHY WE NAMED IT THAT

One word. Three meanings. All of them true at the same time, which is exactly the point.

The Literal Meaning

Australia burns. Bushland burns most summers, and in the bad years, whole regions burn. It's the most immediate, visible consequence of a hotter, drier climate, and it's the image most Australians associate with climate change before any statistic or policy debate.

The Vernacular Meaning

In Australian slang, to be "burnt" is to be caught out — proven wrong, exposed, left holding an outcome you were warned about and dismissed anyway. That's the second layer. This collection isn't named for the fires alone. It's named for the entire political pattern around them: the warnings, the dismissals, and the moment reality arrives regardless.

WE WERE WARNED. WE WATCHED IT HAPPEN ANYWAY. THAT'S THE WHOLE COLLECTION IN FOUR WORDS.

Why Not "Climate Change" or "Environmental"

Those terms already exist, and they're already exhausted — NGO language, government department language, hashtag language. None of it carries any of the deadpan fury this brand runs on. "Burnt" does something those terms can't: it works as a literal description, a political verdict, and a piece of Australian vernacular, all in a single syllable. No explanation required for anyone who already gets it.
